I have a pair of, which I regularly use with my Windows Vista dell laptop, my Nexus7 tablet and my Galaxy S4. Absolutely no problems there.I wanted to use them on my desktop PC as well, a Windows 7, Dell studio XPS. So far I've bought two usb bluetooth dongles:.(couldn't find a page in English, sorry)In both cases, the software package to be installed is CSR harmony. I tried installing both from the CD included with one of the dongles (CLS) and downloading from the internet. I also tried letting Windows install its own drivers as I inserted the dongle, but again, it didn't work.In all cases what happens is that I do manage to connect the device, but it only plays in phone quality.
Windows 7: CSR Bluetooth Radio Driver. Select Install from specific location, check Include this location and click Browse button to select the Cambridge Silicon Radiodriver click Next button to continue and click Finish button to finish installation. After this procedure you should see new CSR BlueCore Bluetooth in usb inside device manager.
I'm pretty sure when I first Add New Device, I do select that I'm adding stereo headphones, not a phone headset. Still, I find no way of selecting stereo quality. I can look at the properties of the headphones in the Windows audio device manager:, and as you can see, the audio is set in phone quality and the drop-down menu doesn't let me select other profiles.I do get an error message when installing the drivers (and I've tried countless times):. So apparently I failed to install CsrBtPortEnumeratedDevice00. Is that where the problem is? If so, how do I solve that?Let me know if you need any more details.
Thank you!.
I also have this problem, and finally solved it. You may refer to following steps:1. Check 'computer management'. If the bluetooth equipment is 'Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator' then you must have issue to pair AirPods (error message: no driver), because MS Win7 native BT driver doesn't support AirPods, but Win10 does.2. Check your PC/latop vender's official support web page, find and download proper bluetooth drive for your chipset module. For HP Probook 640G1,3.
Install the BT driver (it may take 3 minues), and if you see 'Bluetooth Auxiliary' and your BT brand item (e.g. Intel Bluetooth) appear in 'computer management' window, then congratulations.
Ignore the BT equipment without driver. Pair your AirPods and get music and handfree link connected (see pic2). Change your PC/latop sound volume output option to 'Bluetooth Headset'. Enjoy your AirPods with Win7!The unperfect thing on my latop is background noise in AirPods when play. I'm trying to find more versions of BT drivers to improve the sound quality.
